M&A and operating advice for cannabis operators
Get your business ready for what buyers will pay for.
Rescheduling, the federal hemp change and a recovering deal market are reshaping who buys and at what price. Squares Capital helps operators improve earnings, prepare for a sale, run the process, or buy well themselves.
What we do
Advice from the buyer's side of the table
I ran M&A at a multi-state operator. I know what makes a buyer pay up and what makes them walk, and I work with operators on both halves of that.
Improve earnings
Find the revenue, margin and cost moves that matter most to valuation, and track them.
Prepare for a sale
Clean up the numbers, the story and the diligence file before a buyer ever sees them.
Run the process
Find the right buyers, manage the timeline, and negotiate terms as well as price.
Buy well
Screen targets, value them, and plan the integration so the deal pays off after closing.
The 30-minute session
A buyer's view of your business, for $50.
Tell me about your business in a short questionnaire. I review it before we talk, we spend 30 minutes on what matters most to you, and you get a one-page written summary afterward.
- Two tracks: M&A, or management and operations
- The $50 is credited toward any work we do together
- One session per company, eight a month
About
Joshua Snyder
Managing Director, Squares Capital
From 2019 to 2022 I was Head of M&A at Columbia Care, where acquisitions helped the company grow to roughly $500 million in revenue. I closed seven deals, evaluated several hundred more and turned most of them down, and built the post-close tracking for synergies and operating improvements.
Before that I did operational consulting for middle-market companies and private equity investors at Radical Consulting, and worked at FIS/SunGard and Citi.
- 7acquisitions closed, from about $15M to $300M
- Several hundreddeals evaluated, most of them declined
- ~$500Mrevenue Columbia Care reached, helped by those acquisitions
